Barns
If you’ve taken a walk through other pages of this website you’ve discovered that I’m pretty passionate about preserving
heritage barns and landscapes. A few years ago I got involved in an organization called The Michigan Barn Preservation Network
and for the past six years have been the editor of its newsletter, MIBarn. You can learn more about the Network and its
many programs and projects at www.mibarn.net. Don’t be one of those people who frequently moan, “Oh I just hate to see a
barn falling down.”
Get involved!
Make a difference!
It was in the process of working with WalMart and the National Trust
for Historic Preservation to try to save a barn in Ionia, Michigan, (visit www.barnlady1.com. for the full story) that I
was given the nickname “The Barn Lady.” Of course, I don’t hold exclusive title to it. There are several of us around the
United States and I’ve met and/or emailed with at least five of them! One of these days we might just have to get together,
in a barn of course.
If you like barns, make it a point to check my barn website from time to time for images, information, and I hope, encouragement to save these amazing, irreplaceable cathedrals to the earth’s spirit.
