Jan holds a B.A. in English from Albion College; an M.A. from Nazareth College, Kalamazoo; and has studied
holistic health from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, and program evaluation at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
"Since Jan became editor of the Michigan
Barn Preservation Network's newsletter, people have begun asking
for extra copies because the newsletter is appealing, clear, and
compelling. Her writing, organization, and motivation of others
have helped produce a product that is informative and attractive.
These skills are vital to our success in working to save Michigan's
heritage barns and give them new life."
Vera Wiltse, MBPN President
“Jan has professional competence in both
communications and evaluation, an unusual and valuable combination
of skills. She is compassionate and caring in her relationships
with people… exceptionally versatile and impressively creative…
an excellent writer, presenting information and conclusions concisely
and understandably.”
